At just 11 years old, Elijah Ellis has made history as the youngest winner of the $10,000 grand prize in the Lake Taupō Hole in One Challenge.
The talented golfer from Tauranga achieved the remarkable feat shortly after competing in the Bay of Plenty Age Group Championships over the weekend.
On Monday morning, while enjoying a family outing in Taupō, Elijah decided to try his luck at the Hole in One challenge after breakfast. The challenge involves hitting a ball 102 meters from the tee to a red flag, with a $10,000 prize awaiting a perfect shot.
Elijah’s persistence paid off midway through a bucket of 50 balls when he nailed the winning shot.
