Canterbury Golf Awards NZ Golf Business

The 2024 Canterbury Golf Awards Dinner was held recently at the Christchurch Golf Club, which is a special event on the calendar where the club celebrates its people from all areas of the game here in Canterbury.

With 116 people in attendance, it was a big occasion with players, club volunteers, administrators, and greenkeepers alike all being celebrated. The audience was entertained by several special segments including guest speaker, Golf NZ National Coach Jay Carter, and the awarding of several service awards including a new Life Membership.

The list of award recipients was as follows:

Eagles Promising Junior Girl of the Year – Zaria Bourne (Waimairi Beach)
Eagles Promising Junior Boy of the Year – Mitchell Redmayne (Bottle Lake)
Girls Junior Golfer of the Year – Aroha Minhinnick (Waimairi Beach)
Boys Junior Golfer of the Year – Yuki Miya (Pegasus)
Greenkeeper Trainee of the Year – Nic Dobbs (Russley)
Services to Greenkeeping – Bruce Lowe (Prebble Seeds)
Services to Greenkeeping – Peter Calder (Drummond & Etheridge)
Vardon Trophy – Dominic Brettkelly (Clearwater)
Liz Douglas Trophy – Alisia Ren (Russley)
Administrator of the Year – Malcolm Wratt (Coringa)
Volunteer of the Year – Mike Steed and Ray Anderson (Ellesmere)
Women’s Golfer of the Year – Sora Kishida (Rangiora)
Men’s Golfer of the Year – Cooper Moore.(Clearwater)
