Wainui Golf Course and Function Centre is a Restaurant, Bar, Café and Function Venue situated in beautiful countryside and only 20 minutes from Albany.
Are you an experienced Chef de Partie or Commis Chef looking to step up? – If you think you have the passion and ambition we are looking for, come and join our dynamic team. Our Head Chef has 25 years experience, and is willing to train and guide you to new heights.
Job tasks and responsibilities
As our Junior Chef de Partie you will be able to:
- maintain consistency and quality for food leaving the kitchen
- produce high quality cabinet food and cook to order meals from our a la carte menu
- be clean, tidy, methodical and pay attention to detail
- be motivated and able to multi-task in fast paced environment
- be compliant with hygiene NZFCP and HACCP Food Safety standards
- passionate about food, with a willingness to learn
- professional approach when dealing with kitchen team, fellow employees, front of house, management and customers
- participate in a positive team work environment
- general kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties
- we are open 7 days – must be able to work rostered weekend, evening and public holiday shifts as required

Skills and experience
YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE AND WORK IN NEW ZEALAND TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE
- at least 2 years previous experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie
- New Zealand Certificate Level 4 or higher in Cookery would be a plus
- good knowledge on ingredients, cooking methods, equipment and procedures
- high personal presentation with good time management and able to work in an organised manner
- knowledge of NZFCP and HACCP Food Safety standards
- hardworking and motivated, able to cope under pressure
- able to work efficiently and with attention to detail
- flexible, disciplined and adaptable work approach
- pizza knowledge would be an advantage
