The Hawea Golf Club has said its club president Steve Smith has died in a tragic accident.
The statement released this morning said:
“To all the Lake Hawea Golf family it is with great sadness and disbelief I inform you all of the tragic accident that resulted in Steve Smith’s death yesterday afternoon.
Steve was the current club president, passionate golfer and a great and generous human, all of our love and thoughts are with Lynne and the family, as a mark of respect the club have decided to postpone the closing day today until next Sunday the 17th
Please feel free to come for a game today (Sunday December 10) or just come out and have a cuppa or a drink as I know Steve would want us all to “play through “
