The principal role of the General Manager (GM) is to provide sound leadership by developing a culture of teamwork for employees and volunteers, ensuring financial stability, and the effective management of the course, it’s facilities and services thereby ensuring a quality experience for all members and visitors. The GM is the leader of change and the future development of this community asset. The GM reports directly to the Board.
Your prime areas of responsibility
- Full oversight of all the activities and facilities of the Club. This includes golfing, administrative and entertainment activities and the everyday running of the Club.
- Successfully manage the change to the future new clubhouse and the Course Master Plan as per the Club’s Strategic Plan.
- Ensure the financial stability of the Club through the adoption of sound financial management practices, monitoring closely, expenditure and income, and providing and preparing reports and budgets.
- Use best human resource practice to support a positive team culture within the Green keeping, Hospitality and Administration sectors.
- Work with your team, and player group leaders to ensure all golfing events such as club days, sponsor days/corporate days/tournaments are resourced to ensure a quality customer experience and achieve financial success.
- Engage with and effectively communicate with the membership, sponsors and the Omokoroa community to ensure that the satisfaction of all stakeholders is understood and delivered.
We are looking for a person who
- Is a natural leader with excellent communication skills and proven experience in a management role with demonstrable success in financial management
- Has an effective and customer-focused approach to change management
- Is a team player, assisting and supporting team members where necessary.
- Has strong analytical and report writing skills supported with excellent oral presentation skills
- Possesses a high level of personal effectiveness; ability to plan and organize well, demonstrate excellent prioritization, communicate effectively, multi-task and deliver on promises
- Has a genuine interest and an understanding of the game of golf
