Ryan Fox

Ryan Fox’s attempt to keep his PGA Tour card for the upcoming season is going well so far.

Fox finished in a tie for 11th position and moved up seven spots to 102nd place in the FedEx Cup standings going into the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi, where the top 125 finishers secure a card for the following year.

New Zealand’s top men’s golfer, Kevin Yu, finished five shots behind winner Beau Hossler with an 18-under 69 in the fourth round at Country Club of Jackson, despite making just one bogey on his way to a three-under 69. He was unable to finish inside the top 10 at the tournament.

Fox was on course to finish in the top 10 after going the entire round without making a bogey and making four birdies. However, a bogey on the 12th hole, when he missed his par putt by a mere stroke, proved to be the difference.

After a rollercoaster year, Fox is now more at ease within the FedEx Cup top 125 and can enter his next three tournaments knowing he has improved enough to make the trip back to the PGA Tour the following year.
