The PGA TOUR announced Tuesday that 2024 FedExCup champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has won the Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA TOUR Player of the Year for the 2024 season. Scheffler won seven PGA TOUR events in 2024, the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the season-long FedExCup title.
Scheffler joins Woods as the only players to win the Jack Nicklaus Award in three consecutive seasons (est. 1990). Woods won Player of the Year in consecutive seasons from 1999-2003 (five straight) and 2005-07 (three straight). Scheffler (2022-24), Woods (11 times, most recent 2013) and McIlroy (2012, 2014, 2019) are the only players to win the award three or more times. Since the inception of the FedExCup in 2007, nine players have won the FedExCup and PGA TOUR Player of the Year in the same season.
