The primary purpose of a bar and events staff is to support the smooth operation of bar services and the successful execution of events. This role ensures that guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience, whether they are visiting the bar or attending an event at North Shore Golf Club.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for club members, private guests, and the public according to standard recipes. 
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve meals, snacks, and drinks in a timely manner. 
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences, making recommendations based on menu offerings. 
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other specialty drinks. 
  • Clean the café equipment, floors, fridges, coffee machine, and all work surfaces to always ensure good hygiene. 
  • Check customers’ identification to confirm legal drinking age and comply with regulations. 
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking clean mugs and plates. 
  • Ensure café and bar equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs. 
  • Always comply with health and safety regulations. 
  • Assist with event setup and pack down. 
  • Act as duty manager on certain shifts. 
  • Must demonstrate confidence driving a golf cart and drinks cart. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prior experience in a bar or hospitality environment is preferred. 
  • Holds an LCQ and/or Managers Certificate is preferred.
  • Holds a current NZ Driver License.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable personality. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. 
  • A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to exceed customer expectations. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, late-nights, weekends, and holidays as per the club’s operational requirements.
