Accounts Officer & Payroll Officer (Maternity Cover – Fixed Term)

Remuera Golf Club is a respected members’ club and home to both the Auckland Golf Association and Golf New Zealand Association. Our mission is to provide a welcoming third place—where members can relax, connect, and feel part of a vibrant community.

About the Roles:
We are seeking two part-time roles for maternity cover, commencing at the end of October to allow for a comprehensive handover period:

1. Accounts Officer (4 Days Per Week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Payable, including member subscriptions and supplier payments.
  • Maintain accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Process journals, accruals, and maintain the general ledger.
  • Finalize month-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare financial reports.
  • Oversee the Club’s stock and inventory accounting processes.
  • Process and prepare RWT certificates, interest charges, and related financial documentation.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, payable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

2. Payroll Officer (2 Days Per Fortnight)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, leave balances, and payslips.
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, tax obligations, and payroll best practices.
  • Support membership billing and debtor control related to payroll functions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in payroll processing and understanding of payroll legislation.
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Xero) and strong numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.
