Elmwood Golf Course in Fife has announced that children under 16 will be eligible for free membership if their parent is a member.

The initiative is part of the club’s effort to make golf more accessible and inclusive. Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), which operates the course, has also introduced new adult and family season ticket options. These include a 16-month membership for the price of 12, with additional benefits for children of adult members.

The promotions aim to increase participation among groups traditionally underrepresented in golf.

Course manager Greg Kilgour explained, “In line with our ‘golf for all’ ethos, we’re thrilled to offer free junior memberships for under-16s. We’re also working to engage more with local schools to expand our junior program and are exploring discounted season ticket rates for Armed Forces members, emergency services personnel, and NHS staff.”
