Are you passionate about golf course management and ready to lead at one of New Zealand’s busiest clubs? Tauranga Golf Club is seeking an experienced Course Superintendent to oversee and enhance the quality of our course, catering to 1,000 members and accommodating over 1,000 rounds per week.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: A proven track record in golf course management with a deep understanding of managing Bermuda Grass Fairways and Browntop Greens. Tournament preparation experience for Golf NZ Charles Tour events, including planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects to ensure championship standards. Course reconstruction experience would be an advantage as we are currently reviewing our Course Master Plan.
  • Qualifications: Sports Turf Management qualification (Level 4 or higher) essential. Minimum 5 years experience as a Superintendent. 4098 Qualified Assessor & Growsafe Certified.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership qualities to inspire, manage and develop a dedicated team while collaborating with volunteers.
  • Vision: A commitment to excellence, with a proactive approach to improving course conditions and playing an integral role in the upcoming review of our Course Master Plan.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage a busy environment, balancing routine maintenance with long-term planning and staff development.

Your Role:

  • Develop and implement maintenance programs aligned with high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Management to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage staff effectively and ensure seamless operations.
  • Engage with volunteers to coordinate contributions that enhance the club’s environment.
  • Oversee reviews and improvements to the Course Master Plan.
  • Create an environment where your team are engaged and proud to work for you. Be a visible leader.
