Golf New Zealand has entered into a significant new partnership with Craigs Investment Partners, establishing the investment advisory firm as their Official Investment Partner. Under this comprehensive agreement, Craigs will also serve as the Official Partner of She Loves Golf and become the App Partner for the Golf NZ App.
The multi-year collaboration builds upon Craigs’ established dedication to supporting New Zealand golf and reflects their broader commitment to philanthropy, wellness, and national pride throughout the country.
Craigs brings substantial experience to this partnership, having already built strong foundations within the golf community. The firm currently provides sponsorship support to over 30 local golf clubs nationwide and has been the proud sponsor of the New Zealand Open since 2024. Through their innovative Golf for Good initiative, they have successfully raised more than $200,000 for charitable causes, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact through the sport.
This expanded partnership with Golf New Zealand represents the natural evolution of Craigs’ ambitious vision to support golf at every level throughout New Zealand. Their involvement spans from grassroots participation and local club support to elite amateur and professional development programs.
Jeremy Williamson, Craigs Head of Private Wealth and Markets, said “Supporting the communities we serve has always been a priority for Craigs Investment Partners. The idea behind ‘Golf for Good’ came from our desire to combine the sport kiwis love with a meaningful way to give back.
“It’s a unique opportunity for Kiwis to support impactful local charities through golf. Initiatives like ‘She Loves Golf’ reflect our ongoing commitment to championing women’s participation and fostering strong, connected communities.”
The partnership leverages golf’s unique position as the sport that raises more charitable funds than any other. Both organizations share fundamental values around community wellbeing, inclusivity, and sustainable long-term growth. Together, they aim to expand golf’s reach and create more opportunities for New Zealanders to engage with the sport in ways that suit their preferences, whether through local club events, social play, or competitive tournaments.
One notable example of their collaborative approach is Craigs’ Road to the New Zealand Open competition. This initiative combines charitable fundraising with competitive opportunity, giving amateur players who participate in Craigs’ regional charitable golf events the chance to win entry into the Pro-Am Division. Winners get to play alongside professionals in the field at the 2025 New Zealand Open, creating an exciting pathway from local participation to elite competition.
Expanding Support for Women’s Golf
A key component of this partnership involves Craigs becoming an Official Partner of She Loves Golf, Golf New Zealand’s national initiative designed to encourage more women to try golf. Craigs has already demonstrated their commitment to this cause by supporting She Loves Golf activations at both the New Zealand Open and International Women’s Day earlier this year, helping to increase visibility and participation among women.
This partnership aligns seamlessly with Craigs’ broader commitment to empowering women through their established Craigs Women’s Wealth programme. The new agreement formalizes and significantly expands their support, creating additional opportunities for women to connect through golf across the country.
Drawing on more than 18 years of experience operating Craigs Women’s Wealth, the firm has consistently empowered New Zealand women with essential tools, education, and confidence to take control of their financial futures. Their support for She Loves Golf extends this commitment into the realm of women’s wellbeing, participation, and success in sport.
Jeff Latch, CEO of Golf New Zealand, said “Craigs has already made a huge impact through golf—from their branch-level support of local clubs to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars through Golf for Good.
“We’re thrilled to welcome them as an official partner and work together to grow the game, reach more communities, and build on the momentum of programmes like She Loves Golf. It’s a partnership that will make a meaningful difference across all levels of the game.”
Supporting Emerging Talent
Craigs has established a strong track record of supporting emerging amateur players in recent years, providing scholarships and resources to aid their development leading up to major tournaments like the New Zealand Open. Last year, Golf New Zealand Academy members Cooper Moore, Robby Turnbull, and Josh Bai received scholarship support from Craigs to help alleviate the financial challenges commonly faced by amateur golfers. Additionally, Craigs provided scholarship funding to support Golf New Zealand’s 2024 Queen Sirikit Cup team.
With a comprehensive three-year partnership now in place, both organizations are enthusiastic about building upon this solid foundation and expanding their collaborative efforts.
Practical Support for New Players
To launch the partnership and provide additional support for She Loves Golf, Golf New Zealand and Craigs are producing 5,000 Get Into Golf Guides for distribution to clubs throughout the country that operate She Loves Golf programmes. These guides are specifically designed for beginners and include essential information such as understanding different club types, common golf terminology, course navigation, various shot styles, scoring systems, and scorecard marking techniques. This resource aims to help women and girls new to the game feel more confident and prepared as they begin their golf journey.
Community Connection
With over 20 locations across New Zealand and more than 40 years of prioritizing people at the heart of their business operations, Craigs maintains deep roots in local communities. Many of these communities are home to thriving golf clubs and passionate golfers, creating natural synergies for this partnership.
The collaboration between Craigs and Golf New Zealand reflects a shared vision to harness the power of golf for positive impact. Together, they aim to grow participation, strengthen community connections, and contribute meaningfully through charitable initiatives that benefit New Zealand communities.
