About the role:
This position is based at beautiful Cape Kidnappers and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active HR professional with exceptional interpersonal skills. You will partner with the Senior Leadership Team, Head Golf Professionals, Golf Course Managers, Payroll, Finance, and Marketing to develop, drive and deliver successful HR solutions. The Human Resources Manager will support the senior leadership team in managing the HR functions across our business units (This includes our golf courses, administration teams, and our three farms). This role provides strategic and operational HR guidance, focusing on best practices for recruitment, retention, and employee engagement.
This is a part-time position, covering 20-25 hours per week on a permanent part-time contract.
The purpose of the role is to foster a positive and effective workplace culture—creating an environment where every team member looks forward to coming to work.
This role ensures clear communication of company values, vision, and the importance of each individual’s contributions. It also strengthens employer branding through strong networks and effective communication while providing sound, fair judgment on performance and conduct matters.
You will:
· Manage recruitment needs in line with budget and forecast
· Oversee and support recruitment activities, including coordinating interviews and candidate communication, ensuring a positive employer brand experience
· Lead group orientation for new hires to foster a strong company culture
· Coach managers on employment-related matters, ensuring fair and consistent practices
· Manage visa applications and queries (Working Holiday Visas and AEWV)
· Coordinate and track performance management
· Champion the company’s values and leadership expectations
About you:
You will have an aptitude for detail, an understanding of procedures and a desire to develop your HR knowledge, skills and expertise. This is an important position, and you will need to have strong focus on excellence, plenty of enthusiasm and a flexible approach. Additionally:
· substantial experience in a HR generalist role, including recruitment
· a relevant HR (or similar) tertiary qualification
· an excellent communicator
· a team collaborator
· exceptional organisation skills
· a high degree of professionalism and honesty
· a strong practical understanding of NZ employment law and work visas
· the ability to uphold confidentiality and sensitive information, both on and off duty
· the ability to use good judgment and common sense in decision-making
· self-motivated and results oriented
· you will be resilient, with a strong work ethic and will take pride in the growth and development of our teams.
