The Opportunity:

To drive and promote the strategic direction of the PGA of New Zealand through the development of strategic initiatives and leading the day-to-day business operations. 

What you will be doing:

This newly created role will support the Board of the PGA, and the PGA focused team members at Golf New Zealand by leading the day-to-day business operations of the PGA. You will be an ambassador for the PGA brand leading from the front to all stakeholders.

A key focus will be to drive the strategic direction of the PGA, enhance member satisfaction and promoting the brand values, contributing to the overall success of the organisation.

As the Operations and Member Services Manager you will:

Play a leading role in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the PGA 

Identify and develop promotional opportunities to enhance the PGA brand in the NZ market

Enhance the organisation’s value of service to members by managing current services and identifying new initiatives. 

Work with the GNZ Commercial Manager to identify commercial partners to maximise PGA assets and sponsorship.

Co-develop an external marketing and communication programme to enhance the profile and brand of the PGA ensuring delivery by service partners.

Develop and lead a PGA member-focused communication and connection programme to keep members informed 

Manage key communication channels such as the PGA website, member newsletters, PGA social media channels, and member meetings 

Assist in identifying, creating, and delivering PGA brand and profile initiatives. 

Support the PGA Education Manager with the development and delivery of seminars, workshops, forums, events, and surveys to facilitate learning, 

Connect PGA members with support services offered by Golf New Zealand and other golf and sport sector support organisations.

What You Will Bring:

As the Operations and Member Services Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:

Qualifications:

  •  A recognised sports sector qualification or business management degree.
  • A recognised PGA qualification is preferred. Understanding of golf is essential.

Experience:

Senior leadership experience, preferably in the sports sector, with an in-depth understanding of member organisations. Golfing industry experience is an advantage.

Experience developing and executing a strategic plan, including developing and implementing policies, procedures, budgets, programmes, and initiatives.

Marketing experience including development and execution of brand campaigns and sponsorship management.

Experience working with boards. 

Evidence of having effectively grown small organisations desired.

Systems experience – website, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and LMS systems knowledge.

Experience working efficiently on their own and within small teams.

Our mission is to promote and enhance the status of the PGA Professional, assist members in attaining and maintaining qualifications in teaching and related services of the highest possible standards, and promote professional tournaments and competitions.
