Tairāwhiti Golf joins forces with Golf New Zealand in a groundbreaking partnership aimed at reshaping the golfing landscape in the region.
This partnership represents a unique opportunity to develop golf initiatives that have never before been possible in Tairawhiti. The newly appointed part-time Participation & Club Support Coordinator will work with clubs and schools in the district to grow participation with a focus on women, girls, tamariki, rangatahi and people with a disability in line with Golf New Zealand’s Strategic Plan. As part of the role, the Coordinator will also support clubs and facilities in the district.
Tairawhiti Golf welcome the partnership.
“Tairawhiti Golf is very excited to be joining Golf New Zealand in a partnership that will enable us to develop golf in the region in ways we have never had the chance to. Tairawhiti Golf is ready to continue our way forward and is now able to support golf initiatives, specifically those linked to growing Participation and supporting our clubs with the backing of Golf New Zealand. It is with great pride that we can say that whatever happens from now on, we can create a new legacy, our own legacy, our own pathway to forge the way we see fit alongside Golf New Zealand”.
Golf New Zealand also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration.
“The partnership with Tairawhiti Golf takes the number of District Associations in partnership with Golf New Zealand to seven. The Partnership Programme continues to go from strength to strength and we continue to see growth in membership numbers and the number of rounds played across Aotearoa New Zealand. We look forward to working with the Tairawhiti Golf Board and the newly appointed Partnership & Club Support Coordinator to help grow the game of golf in Tairawhiti and to enhance the support services offered to the local clubs and facilities”.
This partnership promises to usher in a new era for golf in Tairawhiti, with a focus on growing the game and fostering a supportive community for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Tairawhiti Golf join Aorangi Golf, Bay of Plenty Golf, Manawatu-Wanganui Golf, Golf Otago, Southland Golf, Tasman Golf, New Zealand Maori Golf, and the PGA of New Zealand as part of Golf New Zealand’s Partnership Programme.
