This role will lead the day-to-day golf operations function, including the Pro Shop, tee sheet, carts, competitions, pace of play, visitor arrival experience, group bookings and event delivery. The role will directly manage Golf Operations staff and liaise closely with the Course Superintendent to ensure course setup, planned works, cart access, tee placements, event requirements, closures and course-related communication are coordinated and followed through. This position is designed to strengthen weekend and peak-period coverage, improve communication between golf operations and course operations, and reduce day-to-day operational pressure on the General Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day golf operations, including the Pro Shop, tee sheet, carts, competitions and visitor arrival experience.
- Manage Golf Operations staff, including daily expectations, communication, follow-up, training and service standards.
- Provide visible operational leadership across weekends, public holidays, tournaments, corporate days and peak golf periods.
- Coordinate tee times, cart allocation, pace of play, marshalling, member communication and competition support.
- Liaise with the Course Superintendent on course setup, planned works, closures, tee placements, cart access and event requirements.
- Improve the member, visitor, new member, green fee player and group booking experience.
- Identify and coordinate golf-related revenue opportunities, including group bookings, corporate golf days, charity days, social golf, green fee play, cart hire and repeat business.
- Coordinate golf events with the course, bar, catering and administration teams.
- Support operational reporting, budget input, health and safety, risk management and continuous improvement.

- You are a confident operational leader with sound people management experience.
- You are practical, organised, calm under pressure and comfortable making decisions in a busy member-focused environment.
- You communicate well with staff, members, visitors, volunteers, contractors and committees.
- You understand the importance of course presentation, service standards, member experience and commercial performance.
- You have an interest in golf, sport, recreation, hospitality or community club environments.
- You are comfortable using technology and operational systems, including booking systems, tee sheets and member databases.
- You are willing to be visible and hands-on across weekends, tournaments, events and peak periods.
- You are experienced in working in a golf environment and understand the game of golf.
