Pāpāmoa Rotary once again teamed up with Bluehaven Group and Mitre 10 to run its 12th Charity Golf Tournament at Omanu Golf Club.
This year the tournament raised over $45,000 to add to the $250,000 the event has raised in the past eleven years for local youth charities and organisations based in Pāpāmoa and Te Puke.
Twenty-nine teams took part in the Ambrose event and honours this year went to the winning team “Rural Retirees” which was sponsored by Geoff Mathis.
Previous recipients of the funding have been scholarships, Dictionaries in Schools project, Graeme Dingle Foundation, Driving Awareness courses for youth, Bike Safety in Primary schools, Pāpāmoa Surf Club and many other local community organisations.
“Pāpāmoa Rotary is extremely grateful to the major sponsors and the support of over 50 businesses and individuals. This is an amazing commitment from the supporters to youth initiatives,” club member Rod Keucke said.
